Top 5 RAM Vehicle Mounts

Top 5 RAM Vehicle Mounts
RAM Mounts have a sterling reputation, and they have gained that reputation with good reason. Their mounts are built to last and to back up that confidence their non-electronic mounting products come with a lifetime warranty*. This article is going to breakdown some of our highest-rated and most popular mounting setups for on-road vehicles.
*All IntelliSkin® and electronic products are covered under a separate one to three-year warranty
Number 1 X-Grip Suction Mount
The X-Grip range is the most popular of the bunch with the classic windscreen suction mount sitting in the number 1 spot. This X-grip cradle is designed to be quick and easy to use while also being as versatile as possible. The RAM suction mounts are also on another level in terms of grip but if one's not enough for you, then they come in double and even triple suction options. Though the triple suction is really only for mounting tablets to your windscreen or aviation craft.

Number 2 Handlebar Mount
The handlebar mount is a top option for more reasons than I can count. While it might be labelled a handlebar mount and the majority of it’s usage is linked to motorcycles this mount is as versatile as it comes. The handlebar mount has been used on surveying poles, hang gliders, jetskis, the list goes on, suffice it to say this is a handy mount if you can think outside the box a little. It can be used in conjunction with your standard socket mounts to give it different lengths depending on how far you need it to come out. From there just link it to any cradle that has a matching ball connection.

Number 3 Tough Claw
The tough claw, I personally use this on the regular for a lot of different video and photo shots. I’ve helped a friend use it to set up on a forklift for his work. This mount comes in three different sizes and mounts to a square rail just as easy as it mounts to a circular rail. It’s more versatile then the handlebar mount in that it can go on bot square and circular rails/edges. This mount is a great fit for many odd jobs as the RAM arms that you need for a full setup allow you a full range of positioning motion.

Number 4 Pod 1 Mount
Ok, this one is less versatile, but it’s designed to be used in only one situation, car mounting when nothing else will do. This is a ‘bendable’ aluminium rod that mounts to your car seat and allows you to put any device at about stomach height (when sitting). While I say bendable, it's not easily done. It keeps its rigidity well, only able to be bent when significant force is applied, i.e this won't tilt over while you're driving or even going across high impact terrain. This is typically used when suction mounts won’t work due to bad angles, lack of space or extreme heat conditions. I’ve pretty exclusively dealt with off-road users who love this mount as they can display a full tablet with ease.

Number 5 Wedge Mount
The Wedge mount, but more specifically the pump version of the wedge mount is a fantastic alternative to the POD1 mount mentioned above. It doesn’t require any messing about with your passenger seat screws but offers the same function as the POD. The only downside is it will be a little less secure and not suitable for some vehicles that have a very wide gap between the seats and the centre console.
