Garmin Edge 520 and Varia Smart Lights Announcement
Garmin have just announced the new Edge 520 Cycling Computer – complete with Strava Live Segments. This new GPS allows you to compete with your previous best cycle times. You can also compete with another rider’s and see real-time results right on screen. It can also give you time in zone, cycling-specific VO2 max (when used with a heart rate monitor) and recovery time (when used with a heart rate monitor) and indoor trainer support (for compatible ANT+ trainers).
This is aimed at competitive riders – there’s a host of features that will appeal to the ambitious rider.
In addition to this cycling computer, Garmin have also announced the Varia Smart Lights. Varia headlights put the light where you need it most, that’s more important than how bright the light is. When linked with select Edge computers, two tail lights can be easily be used as turn signals.
When paired with select Edge computers, Varia headlights can adjust in tiny increments as your speed increases or decreases, so the light is always focused in the right place. They also take into account oncoming traffic so they won’t blind drivers.
